Worship Services at South Pine

Different churches do things in different ways.  Sometimes people are cautious about walking through the doors of a church if they don't know what will happen to them.  Some have had bad experiences before and some might just have some unfounded fears.

General Atmosphere - we are a casual bunch, not a great deal of dressing up and formality.  Our pastors do not wear  clerical clothing and there is no pomp and circumstance.  We strive to be a contemporary church, but balanced.  No-one will try and force anything on you, but hopefully you will be greeted warmly and we will try to make you feel welcome and comfortable.

Worship Service Elements - our services consist of the expected elements of:

• singing worship
• prayer
• Bible readings
• practical application talks
• communion
• ceremonies [infant presentation, baptism, etc]

Music - singing plays a big part in our corporate worship.  We have a few contemporary bands who alternate, and we play a mixture of both contemporary and selections of more traditional music.

Speakers - the speakers are usually one of our pastors [apart from visitors] who strive to apply the wisdom of the Bible into our daily lives.

Children - children join us for the first part of the service and then go off to kid's time, [kid's church], based on a number of age ranges.  They have much more fun than the adults!

Offering - our regular members contribute towards the upkeep of the church and its staff and facilities, and we in no way expect visitors to contribute, so don't feel obliged, you aren't and you won't feel like you are either.

Duration - most morning services last for 1:15-20 min and a little shorter in the evenings.  Morning services start at 9:00am sharp and evening at 6:00pm sharp.
